OTAGO LAND BOARD

The meeting of the Land Board continned on Wedneeday, 12th, was attended by the Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr D. Bar,ron), and Messrs "W. Dallas, J. Tough, and J. M. M'Kenzie. The following applications were dealt with : — Andrew Donaldson applied for a license to out posts. Tramway Creek, Crookston District.— Granted for one year at a rojaltv of £7 10s.

Joseph JRrateir asked. the board to reconsider the application by J. G. Colo to transfer corporation lease 17x, seotion 111, block IX. Maruwhenua district, to him. — Held over.

Ranger O'Neill reported on the position of yearly license held by Wm. Thos. Ridd over area near the Minzion Burn, block 111, Benger district. — As Mr Ridd has left the district, it was decided not to renew the license.

Percy E. Lambert applied for a license to occupy the unsold sections in Block I, 11, and II!, town of Waitaki Bridge.— Declined.

John Thomson, on behalf of John Buchanan applied for a license to cut and remove flax over an area of 100 acres on Run No. 179, Crookston district. — Declined.

R. M'Qiiade wrote with reference to damage done to sections 17 and 101. block IX, Manuwhftnua district, by the recent floods. — Board unable to ussist »n the matter.

After consideration of an application by James Henry Buchanan to purchase an area of about three acres of the reserve on the bank of ihe river, block VIII, Tuapeka West district, the warden and ranger having forwarded reports, it was granted, subject to the usual chain reserve being lefc along the river.

James M'Cone wrote w ith reference to the condition of the sludge channel through his section 27, Tokorahi Estate. — Board unable to render any further assistance.

Application to transfer for yearly license, from A. W. Foster to David Hall, mining reserve in block "V, Table Hill district. — Granted.

Application to transfer interest in email grazing run, from H. M. Smith to J. M. Smith, Run 224 a, 227, Blackstone.—Declined, as permanent residence required has not been completed. Application to transfer, from J. R. Kirk (as executor of the late Duncan M'Lennan) to Robert Duncan, section 22, block XIII, Moeraki district.— Granted.

Application for O.R.P. license. Alfred T. N. Stevenson, section 16, block XV, Crcokston district. — Granted ; yearly license held by J. Beighton cancelled. 'Application to transfer pastoral run, from executors of the late Jane Hay to Wm. Hay, section 7, block 3, Catlins district.— Granted.
