WOODSIDE.
Augusc 15. —For blue sky and. beautiful sunshine the last week perhaps tabes the record. For August weathei it has been par excellence, and should the month continue as fine all stock should do well through the spring. Two mornings were very frosty, w.ben 9jkleg and. 7^deg of frost were registered. On the other hand, 7Gdegof heat was registered on one of the days, an earnest of the fao' that summer is hastening on apace.
Influenza. — The influenza epidemic is still iii the district, but is gradually decreasing. It has claimed many victims, however, and during its height the school had tc be cloeec 1 for a week.
Changes. — Mr A. S. Burns, storekeeper, Jios sold hiT business to Mr Harlow, and retires at the end of the week. During the nine years he has been in the district he has built up a considerable business. Mr and Mra Burns will both be missed, and they take with them the good wishes of the people as they depart for their newsphere of labour.
