EGG-LAYING COMPETITIONS.

BLENHEIM, August 14. In the Blenheim egg-laying competition the total for the week was 1772, and the grand total 18,334. The highest pens tor the week are: — Thomson's white Leghornsj 31; Adams's white Leghorns, 31; Master MacOallum's white Leghornß, 29; Master Allen's white Leghorns, 29. The highest to date are : — Brown's white- Leghorns, 518; Misa Brown's black-Orping-tons, 502; Sturrock's black Orpiagtons, 457 ; Edelston'o white Leghorns, 417 ; Sowmap's white Leghorns, 411 ; Migs Shaw's white Leghorns, 409. CHRISTCHURCH, August 17.

During the week ended August 14 964 eggs were laid by the ]*ms entered in the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club's fourth egg-laying competition at Lincoln College, the total to date being now 13,402. The best layings for the week were :— T. Kennedy's silver Wyandottes, 35; Mrs J. Mills's white Leghorns, 31 j Allan Petrie's white Leghorns, 29 ; W. A. Nixon's white Leghorns, 2o ; W. A. Nixon's silver Wyandottes, 28 ; A. W. Broadway's silver Wyandottes, 28 ; Mrs W. O. Sail's white Leghorns, 28 ; H. Judge's silver Wyandottes, 28 : Drury and Rose's white Leghorns, 28. The highest totals to date are : — T. Kennedy's Bilver Wyandottes, 546; New Zealand Poultry Journal Institute's white Leghorns, "464; A. Todman's white Leghorns, 451 ; Drury and Rose's white Leghorns, 425 ; Allan Petrie's white Leghorns, 416 ; Master W. Sail's white Leghorns, 410; W. A. Nixon's white Leghorns. 389 ; B. W.
