MOSSBURN DOG TRIAL.

The first meeting of the Mossburn Dog Trial Olub.was held at Mossbiiin on the 9th and 10th inst., m Mirs G. Beer's paddock (kindly, lent for the occasion). The weather on the first day was all that could be desired, but on the second day a strong breeze sprang up m the afternoon, which spoilt the chance of a lot of good dogs m the huntaway class. Everything m connection withthe trials passed' off without a hitch, and all the officials are to be commended for the manner which they carried out their respec-

tive duties. Mr R. Yardley, of Lumsden, carried off the silver cup, and Mr R. Anderson took the medal m the farmers' class. Mr W. I Scott, of Cromwell, acted as judge for four j events, and Mr T. Ready m the driving and j yarding competition. Mr Cliff BeeT kindly supplied the sheep. A smoke concert was held on the evening of the 10th to entertain tbo competitors. Mt W. Anderson, as secretary, deserves credit for the success of the meeting. There will be a substantial balance to carry forward to next year. The results were : — Maiden. Class.
