A curious incident happened on the Masterton Bowling Green, the other day. A bowler 6ent his bowl up swiftly in a drive; it wicked off another bowl, and struck a coat lying on the bank come distance away. In the pocket of the coat was a box of matches which the impact of the bowl set in a' blaze, and th^y quickly destroyed the pocket. The scorer registered the .shot as a "burned bowlj" '■ :
