The Jetty street jetty extended into the bay from the present site of the Pier Hotel. Ihe first low bui'ding shown was the late Mr Cutten's store and the Otago Witness office, the tall building on the other side of the wharf being the late Mr J. Jones's store, on the site now occupied by E. Wilson and Co.'s bond.
