YOUNG MAN COMMITS SUICIDE.
AUCKLAND, March 16. A young man — David Ernest Forest, 19 years of age — committed suicide at Mayfield in a very determined manner. Forest, who was a carpenter employed at the Ohel' sea Sugar Works, left his home saying- he was going to shoot rabbits. Later on his brother found a letter from David stating that he was going " dotty," and intendea to put an end to himself. The brother pro* ceeded with his mother to the spot indicated in the letter, and found the body* with the gun beside it. The deceased had apparently placed the muzzle of the qua in his mouth and pulled the trigger, as his head was shattered. He had spent many sleepless nights, and the fear of an operation preyed on his mind.
