No protest will be considered unless lodged in writing with Secretary 10 minutes after the race and accompanied by £2, and in trotting races £5, which will be forfeited if the protest is not upheld. The New Zealand Rules of Racing and New Zealand Trotting Association Rules will be strictly adhered to. Any person laying totalisator odds or conducting any game of chance will be ordered off the course. Any Jockey who does not bring his mount to the starting-post at the time advertised in the race-books will be fined £1. By entering a horee the nominator and every person having any interest in such horse shall be deemed to accept all the conditions and retrictions imposed or implied by these Rules, and to be debarred from questioning any action or conduct of any official of a Trotting or Racing Club in respect of suoh horse or auy person connected therewith, otherwise than is provided for in parts XXXI and XXXIV, Rules of Racing, and in part AAX, Rules of Trotting. All Stakes will be paid in full, except in case of a walk-over, when the club will deduct 50 per cent, from the stake.
