OUR AGRICULTURAL METHODS.

In speaking to a Press representative, Professor Voder said: — "I arrived in New Zea'and on Thursday last, and made a number of excursions along both coasts of the North Island. One thing that impressed me greatly was the Government supervision over export products — butter, cheese, and hemp, — thus establishing definite uniform grades for the -whole Dominion. This strikes me as a very wise move. It seems to do much towards producing beFter farming and a higher grade of article. Many striking things have come under my notice in your country For instance, I was surprised to note the importance of the hemp industry, centring as it does upon a native plant. I had a trip to Lincoln College to-day. The institution is in the centre of a remarkably fine agricultural region. The students were hard at work, and are given a very pjactioal and systematic training, which should aJmirc-bly prepare them for the most profitable management of their estates when they are ready to launch out on their own account I expect to see a little of Otago passisg through, and after returning" to Australia I shall spend the remainder of February in Vicroria and South Australia, giving particular attention to the ' dry' farming operations as carried out in ths latter State. It seems to me that the climatic conditions there are in many respects similar to those under which we operate in our location at Utah. After leaving Australia, I shall go eastward, remaining a month in India and as long in Egypt and Syria. I shall spend some time in Europe. t.nd reach home again in July or August."
