REPORTED RESIGNATION OF SIR A. MACDONNELL.
LONDON, January 30. The Irish Times asserts that Sir Anthony MacDonnell, Under-secretaTy for Ireland, has tendered his resignation owing to his wishing to resort to sterner measures against the offenders against law and ofder than Mr Birrell will sanction. HEALTH OF PARTY LEADERS. LONDON, January 28. Sir H. Campbell-Bapflerman is nearly convalescent.
January 31. An attack of influenza will keep Mr Balfour confined to his bed for several ' days. Sir H. Campbell-Bannerman is m.aking progress towards recovery, but he will remain indoors for some days yet.
