LAND AND WATER
Jacobus River at present is very low, there being barely sufficient water to cover the shoals. The bed of the Otautau stream is practically dry. On Sunday, last (says a Milton paper) Mr G. Idttlejohn walked to Dunedin from Milton in 7$ hours, beating his previous record by 20 minutes. He had as a companion a cyoliet, who "made the pace." j iM!^_^M.
