WELLINGTON, February 3. When the flagship Powerful left Wellington for Sydney on Friday it had been arnnged to endeavour to connect New Zealand and Australia by \vireles9 telegraphy, messages being despatched from the Pioneer, in port at Wellington, to the Powerful, in mid-ocean, and thence to the Cambrian, outside Sydney Heads, and on to the Psycho, in Port Jackoon. Sir Joseph Waid to-day sent a message by this route to the Hon. A. Deakin. No reply has yet been received
