NEWCASTLE MINING TROUBLE
DEADLOCK ENDED,
SYDNEY, January 30. The chances of a settlement of the Newcastle difficulty are again interfered with, owing to the Rhondda miners striking over the matter of pay.
The Rhondda dispute is over s matter of 12s claimed by a single miner, and on the question of paying this amount , the possibility of a general strike rested. The spWal court suggested that the owners should pay the amount into court, pending a decision, and the owners accepted the suggestion. The court is now - awaiting the men's acceptance of its proposal.

The Rhondda miners have agreed to the court's suggestion that the owners should pay 12s, the amount claimed by a single miner, into court pending a decision, and the- deadlock is ended.
