MELANCHOLY SUICIDE.
LONDON, January 9. The police are satisfied that the body of the woman found on October 10 in Wroxall Woods, Goring, is a Sydney lady who disappeared in May during a state of depression, owing, it is alleged, to the stoppage of her allowance. Relations have identified a gpld-studded haircomb, and two lady acquaintances have identified a silver buckle and the clothes. Death is attributed to an overdose of morphia adminastered by a hypodermic syringe found on the body. The. Daily Mail states that the body found at Goring is that of Mts Dolly Scott Harden, who is reported to be the vife of a Sydney solicitor. A friend says she tried, but failed, to earn a living by her pen or on the stage. She took morphia to relieve acute neuralgia. The friend received a letter from her on May 9, stating that she intended to commit suicide, as she was terribly depressed and was reluctant to live upon her friends' charity. SYDNEY, January 10. The Mrs Harden mentioned in yesterday's cable was the wife of a solicitor who, after practising for some years in Sydney, disappeared about the end of 1906, leaving no trace. His wife was a remarkably handsome woman, and continually journeyed between Australia and England. The husband kept her well supplied with funds until h:s disappearance.
