EASY' WIN FOR THE- FORMER. OHRISTCHURCH," December ■ 22: The annual match between Christ's Cof« lege and Otago High- School was' commenced- oh the Christ'f College* ground. December 23.. The annual match between Christ's' College - and Otago Boys' Hieh' School 'was con- ' eluded on the College Ground.* this morning, and resulted in an easy win for the home team by 10 wickets. On the first 1 day Otago had made 163 in their first innings, while the College had lost 6ix wickets for 191, the two.not outs being Jennings (49) and' Norris (26). The former only added a 6ingle to his"score, but Norris batted steadily.,and with useful scores by the . Rutherford brothers the total was taken., to 251. When the visitors went in to. bat a second time they: ' were unable to do'any thing with the "bowling of Rutherford, and nine wickets were , down for 59. Mitchell and A. P. Alloo, 1 however, made a good stand for the last wicket, and were successful in talking the total to 67) averting an innings defeat. Rutherford put up a very good bowliftg performance, taking nine wickets for 33. In this he was assisted by the safe catching of the College tea.m. wnose ground | fielding, was also very good. . Only 5 rune ( were wanted to secure a win for Christ's , College, and Saunders and- Bruges knocked them off.
