CH ARGES ON FORGERY.
AUCKLAND, November 29. Frederick William Jones, for some time employed as a postal messenger, was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence for forging a money order telegram for £18. which offenc© he admitted. Henry Toovey was this afternoon charged ■on remand at the Police Court with forging end uttering two totalisator tickets at Eilerslie Racecourse on the 13th met., by which means he intended to defraud Hy. Hayr, totalisator contractor to the A.R.C., of the sum of £5 14s. The tickets in question were produced In court, and were pronounced by Mr Harry Hayr to be bogus ones. He also stated that had he paid out on those two tickote, £2 17b would have been lost on each. Otherwise the race balanced. Accused, who reserved his defence, wae committed for trial.
