The- Following telegram, has been received, from the Prime Minuter by % leading bookmaker: — "In reply- to your telegram, the act is now in force, and every, racing olub authorised' to uso the totalizator must, on the application of any person who Jo, in tho opinion of the committee or otter managing body of the elubj a fit and propop person lo be granted a- license, grant the license to such person, to enter and carry on the business- as a bookmaker. The license may be for any period thi club may. think fit, and a fee may b4 charged not exceeding £20 a day.
