DEATH OF A BENEFACTOR
SYDNEY, July 25. The death of Mr D. Mitchell, the donotr of the famous Mitchell Library, wbich i* the most complete collection of Australian and Oceanic literature in existence, and of priceless value, is announced. Mr Mitchell, in, hie will, in addition to donating the library, made a bequest of £70,000 to endow it. A special Gazett* has been issued expressing regret at the death of one of the greatest benefactor* of tbe State.
