COAL MINE OWNERS' PROTEST.
GOAL At a. meeting of' coal-mine owjiers o« the 19kh inst., at which representatives from all the coal companies if Otago were present/ the following resolution was unanimously carried: —" That this meeting enters an emphatic protest against any increase ol duty in connection with mining machinery, especially boilers and locomotives, as tha industry has already as much as it can carry." A copy of the resolution was telegraphe' to the Minister on- Saturday/.
