COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS' ASSOCIATION.
CELEBRATION OF THE ANNIVERSARY OF CONSTITUTION DAY. A smoke concert to celebrate the second anniversary oC constitution day of the United Commercial Travellers" Association of Australasia was held at the club rooms of the New Zealand Commercial Travellers' and Warehousemen's Association on Saturday evening. The president (Mr F. 11. King) rt-as in the chair, and there was a very large attendance. Apologies for absence were read from his Excellency the Governor, the Prim© Minister (Sir "Joseph Ward), the Minister of Labour (Hon. J. A. Millar), and Sir Henry Miller. . The Chairman, in proposing the toast ot "The United Commercial Travellers' Association of Australasia," said it wa6 the head of affiliated associations comprising- 3500 members, including warehousemen, and comprising assets aniounting to £80,0G0. Its yearly subscription was only £2 2e, while already ite Mortuary Dividend Fund amounted to £40. Among others who proposed or responded to toasts were Mr 8. Solomon, X.C, the Mayor of Dunedin (Mr J. Lou-don). Mosses A. H. Bridger, J. W. Henton (president of the Chamberof Commerce). D. M'Plierson. and James Brown. A capita! {■rogrrsmmc of vocal and instrumental muftic was carried out under the supervision of Messrs J3. Cooke and J. Coombs.
