OUTBREAK IN MARKET STREET.

An eight-roomed two-storeyed house in Market street, in which it will be remembered there was an outbreak of fire on Saturday, July 13, was practically gutted by fire on July 29. When the brigade arrived the fire had a complete hold of the building, and the result was that very little more of the building remained than the walls, which are of brick. No one appears to have noticed the fire until it had a very firm hold. The building was owned by Mr W. H. Skitch, and was insured for £700 with the Sbuth British Insurance Company. The occupier of the house was Mrs Cassidy, who kept boarders, but there was no one in the house at the j time of the outbreak, and no sign of the i occupiers afterwards^ The insurance on the effects, if any, Is therefore not lmowa. Most of the furniture in the house seemed to be in the front rcom, and was got out by way of the window. The origin of the outbreak is a mystery.
