The Times declares that nothing short of universal military service on the Continents model will justi£y the construction of the Channel tunnel. j January 4. I Lonl Wolseley reiterates the opinion that there will be a danger of an. invasion if the Channel tunnel is constructed. PARIS, January 4. The French statesmen M. Deschanel, M. Doumea, M. de Guyot, M. Cqnstant, and M. Destournelles advocate the constiuction of the Channel- tunnel.
