It may be the Monk Augustine, fresh from Imperial Rome, preaching to the stalwart, bearded Britons; it may be John the Baptist, forerultner to "The Light of the World" ; or Prince Siddartha, or John Wesley, or j Luther, or Confucius, or the lonely indomitable figure of Gordon waiting in beleaguered 'Khartoum.
