The J principal sources of revenue were : — Totalisa- * tor, £1000 16s; gate takings, £314; entry ' fees, etc., £i7i 10s. The principal items of J
expenditure were : — Stakes, £1150 ; course improvements, £183 lls lid; totalisator tax. £126 2s Bd. The credit balance was £183 5s Id. The assets were set down at £636 5s Id, and liabilities at £12, the principal items in the a-ssets being £410 on fixed deposit, and £183 cash.
The report stated that the spring meeting was the best held at that season for some years past, and resulted in a profit of £ 237 : while the autumn meeting returned a profit of £4i, bad weather militating against its financial success. The report and balance sheet were adopted.
After considerable, discussion, it was resolved that it be a strong recommendation to the incoming committee to expend a sum of money in erecting a new grand stand and in effecting other improvements. The following officers were elected : — President, Mr J. C. N. Grigg ; vice-president, Mr W. B. Denshire; hon. treasurer. Mr J. Davison; committee — Messrs Uoton. Malet, Hodgkins, Davi«nn, Acland. Russell, H. Friedlander. Mathias, Gates. Hampton, and Hart; stewaids — Messrs J. Hnmpton, Gates, H. Friedlander. Hodg-kins, Hutton. Malet. D. Thomas, Mithias, Russell, and J. Studholme.
It was decided to recommend the new committee to consider the advisability of erecting a teut to supply afternoon tea to ladie3 at the club's fixtures.
Mr T. E. Upton was elected chairman of committee for the eleventh year in succession. . ,
