GREAT MASONIC MEETING.
GRAND LODGE OF NEW ZEALAND
CHRISTCHURCH, May 9. His Excellency the Governor was installed as Grand Master of the New Zealand Constitution at Christchurch on" Wednesday. There was a very large attendance, the hall being full to ovecflowing. The various lodges from tha Bluff to Auckland were represented by delegates, and the scene was a very brilliant one. The series of elaborate and stately ceremonies usual on such occasions were carried out with admirable precision and effect. M.W. Bro. A H. Burton (Otago). the retiring Grand Master, was on the throne, supported by Past Grand Masters M.W. Bro. Malcolm Nicool, W". Barron, and H. J. Williams, R.W. Bro. Dilworth Fox, District G.M., representing the District Grand Lodge, E.C. The M.W. Grand Master Bro. A. H. Burton acted as installing master, and tbe ceremonies of investing and enthroning fche 'Most Worshipful Bro. Lord Plunket w«*s carried out with brilliant effect in accordance wiifh fche ancient custom of the oraft, and the newly-installed Grand Master was duly saluted" by the large assemblage of brethren.
R.W, Bro. F. C. Binns was installed as ' Pro. Grand Master, and received the coifir ternary salutes; The Most Worshipful Grand Master announced the appointment by him of the following^ officers:—- N.Z. Deputy Grand Master, Bro. P. W. fifcown (Oainaru) % Senior Grand Warden, 8.. W. Bra. J. H. Keesmz (Wanganui) j Junior , Grand Warden, R.W. Bro. H. C. Tewßley (Auckland). The election of Grand Superintendents for the various districts resulted as follows:— Auckland, R.W. Bro. O. Kichofeon; "Wellington, R.W. Bro. C J. Ronaldson; West Coast, R.W. Bro. J. H. tfc&kness; Nelson and Marlboroogh, R.W. Bro. J. CConnolly; Southland. R.W. B*X G. T. ! Smyth; Hawke's Bay and Gisborne, R.W. 1 Bro. J. W. MacDougall ; Taranaki. R.W. . Bro. F. P. Corkill.
