A movement to induce the Government, if possible, to take over the main roads of Ihe colony has been initiated by the Tauranga County Council, which has resolved to ask- the Premier to insert a provision in his proposed Local Bodies Bill to that effect. The proposal has been endorsed by the Waitemata County Council, and it has been decided to bring ~the matter under the notice of the next counties' conference.
