ODE FOR THE D.L.F. BAYS AT DUNEDIN AND INVERCARGILL WINTER SHOWS.

Dear Dot. — There is a coincidence connected with your l-equest for an ode. Recently, in conversation with T. D. A., Tangles, Zealia, and Otima, they informed me of tbe engagement of a prominent D.L.F., who shall be nameless. Said I : " I'll have to write a wedding ode for ber," and instantly I got four more orders. Then my Witness came to hand conveying your request, and that made six ; and I intend writing the sixth first. I have rot seen. The Fly yet, but feel sure of his co-operation. You may therefore count upon your rpque e t being granted with pleasure. There is a, jJoint, however, to be marked well by D.L.F. It is this: The ode is intended to be comprehensive of the aspirations of all D.L.F. , north and south; so it becomes an mdividue.l responsibility for each member of tbo page to be represented in th« bay. It would never do to have a comprehen- ' sive ode and an incomplete exhibit — would it, dear Dot? Therefore, all D.L.F., please take note, and obey — with great alacrity, — Ever surely yours, BLONDEL. [I hope to be able to get BlondeVs ode set to music with a view to its being sung at the social, as well as occupying a place in tbe bays. I trust L.F. will consider carefully Blondel's remarks, and endeavour to be represented in some form, however trifling, at the two bays.— DOT.]
