The timber merchants of the West Coast of the South Island have decided to reduce the pace of timber to South Islarxl buyers. Th» price has been reduced from 7s to tis a hundred feet. Tins reduction will apply to the bulk of the timber, though some uill only be reduced to 6s 6d *. hundred. No alteiation has been made in ihe pi ice of timber for :he Wellington market, which remains at 6s lid per hundred, f.0.15.
