The weather wa.3 fin© for the conclusion of the Canterbury Jockey Club's autumn D'eeting, although towards the oloes of the afternoon a cold wind sprang up. The attendance, although not so large as on the opening day, was very fair. The totalizator investments amounted to £9839. the amount for the meeting showing an increase of £5634 on last year's total, 'lliere were 81 investors on the winning double, Cross Battery and Boomerang, which paid a dividend of £16 8a 6d. Of the afternoon's racing the finest contest was tha/; between Achiiies and Porcelain in the Challenge Stakes, the Xx>rth Island crack winning a great race by a head.
