ADDIGTON STOCK MARKET. (From Our Own Correspondent.)

CHRISTCHL'ECH, April 13. At the Addington live btock market to-day there were large entries of a'most all classes of stock, and a. good attenda-nce. Fat cattle showed a further decline. Prime fat lambs maintained their value", but a large proportion which were unfinished brought lower rates. Owing to the large entry, fat sheep were rather easier towards the close of the sale. Store Sheep. — TJJie yarding was somewhat larger than last *veek, and all classes sold well, especially lafeibs and ewes and forward wethers. The range of prices was-— Young ewes, mixed ages, 17? to 2is; low conditioned. 13s 6d to 15s ; sound-mouthed, 13s 7d to 17s 3d ; boilers, 5s to 6s 9d ; forward wether*, mixed aged. 16s 5d to 17s sd; two and fourtooth, 12s lOd to 15s ; forward lambs, 12s to 13s 3d; others, 9s 6d to 11s 6d.

Fat Lambs. — There was a very large entry, totalling nearly 6000. The bulk of which had not been well finished, and these in many I cases did not sell so well a3 they might have done in the store pens. Any lota that were ! prime sold fully up to the previous week's rates. Prime lambs made 16s to 17a 9d ; medium weights, 14b 6d to 15s Gd ; a-nd unfinished, 12s 6d to Us. There were 4784 taken by export buyers, and 783 were passed In. ; Fat Sheep.— There was a fairly large yard-

ing of fat sheep of good to prime quality, ewes forming the major portion. Wethers sold well throughout, but after the butchers had filled iheir requirements ewes became duller of sale, there being few purchased for export. The range of prices was: — Prime wethers, 20s Ito "225 ; lighter, 17s to 19s 6d ; prime ewes, 15s to 16s 3d; extra, to 18s lOd; medium. 13s to 14s 6d; aged, 11s to 12s 6d; prime merino wethers, 14s 8d to 16s; others, 11s to 13s 9d. Fat Cattle.— The yarding totalled 251, and included a few heavy-weight steers. Tbe sale opened with a very alack demand, and the values were ultimately established upon a lower basis , than the previous week. Two steers from Mr ■ C. P. Murray-Aynsley (Methven) made £10 5s and £11 ss, two cows £5 5s and £6 ss, and nine steers from Chatham Island £5 2s 6d to , £10 5s and £11. Other steers brought £5 5s to £9 ss ; heifers,, £5 to £6 ss ; and cows, £4 10s to £6 5s — equal to 18s to 20a for prime I and 14s to 17s for cows and medium quality ' per 1001b. Veal calves sold at 7s 6d to 40s. Store and Dairy Cattle. — There was a fairly large entry. The demand %vas very flow, and prices low. Sales were effected as follows: — jji'earlings, 12s 6d to 325; fifteen to eighteenmonths, 30s to 40s; two-year-old steers, £2 10s to £3 ss; two-year-old heifers, 30s to £2 10s; two and a-half-year-old steers, £4; tbree-year-o'd steeis, passed at £6 3s; one-year-old heifers, passed at £4; dry cows, to £2 103. Dsiry > cows met with p. dull sale at £6 to £7 15s for , best and £3 to £5 10s for others. ! Pigs.— There was a fairly Iprge entry cf pigs, 1 porkers being in good demand, but only a fair ' sale foT baconers, while stores wore difficult to dispose of except at very low prices. Baconers made 38s to 49s 6d, and a few extra heavy to 52s — equal to 3sd to 3Jd per 1b ; j porkers, 22s to 36s — equal to 4d to 4Jd per lb ; ' good stores, 12s 6d to 15s; medium, Ss to 12s^ , and weaners, 2s 6d to ss.
