WAIWERA.

November ' 6. — The weathe. for weeks past has been very changeable indeed, much rain having fallen at intervals; consequently the land has been in a wet state for a considerable time, which delayed the sowing — the later portions of the crop very much so. In many cases the crops have had. to be left in an unfinished state. Some low-lying parts have not been in. a fit state to sow at all, so that it will not be surprising if we have a very irregular harvest. After all, it is really surprising to see the crops that were got in in anything like fair "order looking /so remarkably well. G-Ass, too, which was kept back very much by the weather, is now coming away again much better, and, on the whole, feed is fairly plentifuL Cricket. — Our boys are doing well again this season, having already secured several victorios in matches. For a long time Waiwera ha 3 held her own well in the grand old game. Seeing there is always a good deal of expense in this as -in other games, I think oiir boys_ can justly expect some substantial support from the residents of the surrounding district.

.Lambing. — The lambing season is now at an end, and, so far as I can gather, the per'oentage will, on the whole, be, quite up to the average — perhaps a little over.

Grass Seed. — I- think there will be some very good .seed crops in the district, and, as usual, some promise to be heavy. Weddings. — I&st week several of our young folk were joined in holy wedlock — Miss Sheddan and Mr "James Fyfe, son of Mr Fyfc of this place ; and' Mr Richard Edwards, second son of .Mr 'ISdwa'rds, farmer, who has married a young lady ' from the south. Both the young c&uple3 have gone north, with all good wishes lavished on them for their future prosperity and. happiness.
