Notes from Reef ton. (From Our Own Correspondent.)
REEFTON, August 31. The Big River Company's mine manager reports:—"During the week No. 8 level has been driven 10ft on the reef. In the face ai present there, is 7ft of stone in the bottom of the drive and sft in tlie back o£ the drive. The stone shows gold very freely, and is solid and hard. The intermediate has been driven 10ft, making the distance from the winze 34ft. We raised 26 tons of stone for the week, making 94 tons in the paddock. The length of stone in No. 8 level is 23ft.
