Tho New Alpine Consols continues to put big yields to her credut, and last week's return was lllloz, whilo the two Electrics obtained returns cf over lOOgz. In tho West Coa&t concerns, tha Paetolus dredges are again well to the fore, and! the New Trafalgar, which is working alongside tho Paetolus claim, caused some surprise by obtaining a return of 40oz. The share market on Monday was very much firmer in tone than, it has been for sonio considerable time, a fair aniotmt of business being put through, andi not a, few stocks phowing a material hardening. New Halfway Houses provided five of the eighfi sales effected, but the prices were somewhat; small. Electric 5, Golden, Rung, Junction Electrics. New Trafalgars, Otagos. Sandy Point?, and Umty3 were all more or less firmer. New Trafalgar undergoing the most noticeablo haidemng. Investment stocks -we^e accorded the usual scant notice. Buyers of Otagos were firmea at 335, and holders firm at 355. An inquiry for Riley's Beach&s at 6s 9d had response at 7a 6d, while Sandy Point quotations read-—buyers 245, sellers 255. Values in Unitys picked up again, and a transaction was effected at 4s 6d, requests for further parcels at 4s 9d meeting with response at ss.
