SWIMMING THE ENGLISH CHANNEL.

LONDON, August 24. Annette Kellerman, ,W. T. Burgess, Horace, and Mew started to swim iroin Dover to Calais. At V o'clock Miss Kellerman, who was two miles ahead of the others, withdrew, owing to sea-sickness. (Received August 25, at 11.22 p.m.) Burgees and Mew abandoned the attempt to swim the Channel. .Each, like Miss JCellerman, swam 11 miles. Holbein started in the Afternoon, but relinquished the task late at night, after covering 16 miles. August 25. Miss Kellernian will make another attempt to swim the Channel next year.
