MEMORIAL STATUE IN THE VICTORIA PARK, WANGANUI. The inscription reads: "To the memory of the gallant officers and men of Her Majesty's Imperial Army and Navy and Colonial Foroes who died in the service of their country during the long wars with natives of these islands, and who lie buried in or near this town. Erected by the inhabitants of Wanganui."
