Frozen meats have kept up rery well considering that the flocks, which had decreased largely, recovered by 900,000 last year. Butter will no doubt show up well in next return, otherwise there is nob much to note. We can hardly expect our great variety of exports to keep up to the high standard of last year without fluctua« tion. The two quarters show as follow: — March quarter, 1905 .„ .. £G,484,282 June quarter, 1905 .. .. 3,436,041 Total » .» £9;920,323 March quarter, 1904 .. .. £5,702,129 June quarter, 1904, .* -.. 3,586,199 Total £9,2«8,32S So it promises well for- the year, thougK there is some falling-off in the quarter. The imports show: — Juae quarter, 1905 ». .. £2,246,746 June quartear, 1904 .. .. 2,388,933 deducting £200,155 specie from last year's return. No specie is noted for 1905. The decline is insignificant. A Savoyard shepherd named Vachat entered a barn near Yauokis-e. and found a cow in the act of chewing up his sawnsj*. which, consisting of £70 in banknotes. \\dd been hidden in a corner of the Iwin. Oiiiy ! two notes for £3 remained uneaten.
