The third and last match between the abovenamed clubs took place on Saturday, 12th inst. As both clubs are about equal in strength, a keen struggle to =ecure the rubber was anticipated, and anticipations were fully realised. As each board sent in its returns, excitement grew more intense. Until the last three returns came in, no one could tell who was going to win, ond it appeared as if a draw was to be the result. However, Te Tua emerged victorious from the stiuggle by a majority of two games, and so placed to its credit two matches won out of the three played. After the results were declared, the visitors were hospitably treated to a first-class supper. Mossis Richards and Archdall spoke briefly on the progress the- game of draughts had made in the surrounding district, and on behalf of the Te Tv? Club thanked Orepuki Club for their kind treatment. Mr Eeichel suitably acknowledged the compliments bestowed upon his club. Appended axe particulars of scores: — Te Tua. Okepuki. Wins. Draws. Wins. 1 B. Richards.. 0 A. Cullen .. 1 1 J. Dovalosky 0 J.
