THE ASSOCIATION GAME.

The tie between Kaitangata and Wakari for premiership was decided at Culling Park on Saturday, when the coveted position was annexed by Kaitangata with a victory of 2 goals to nil. The match attracted the largest attendance accorded an Association match this season, and provided an enjoyable day's football, the combined work of the winners being ai- +inies good to watch. against the fairly strong breeze that was blowing the visitors' defence was equal to the dc-mandg made upon it, the powerful kicking of the backs being invaluable. Wakari pressed hard, endeavouring to make use of the opportunity the wind afforded, and at times were dangerous. An invasion by Kaitangata just at the conclusion of the first spell was successfully engineered, and the large section of " Green " supporters went wild with enthusiasm as the country learn drew first blood. With a goal to the good and everything in their favour, Kaitangata in the second spell had not much to worry them. The defence of Wakari was severely tested, but the full backs put in sound work, with the result that their heavy opponents only succeeded in registering an additional goal. The premiership having been decided by this match, the same teams will play off for the Charity Banner next Saturday, the use of the Carisbrook Ground having been kindly granted by the O.R.F.U.
