MELBOURNE, June 20.

Coppel and Co., jewellers in Collini street, .have been robbed of £1000 wortit of jewellery. The burglars gained entrance to an unoccupied building adjoining, cut through a bluestone wall 2ft thick, andthen drilled out the lock of the- -safe.

The High Court fixed the penalties .a the remaining cases in which importers were charged with not paying full duty on New Zealand fish. * E&cJi defendant was fined £170, with costs. The judges saidl that the admission, which had saved the Commonwealth much expense, had operated with the court in fixing tbo amount.

' An Order-in-Council has been issued fix* ing the allowances of the High Court judges at two guineas a day each, exclusive of passage money, and allowing on< associate. The latter will receive 17s 6d a day.
