"Regret to report death of a, mule." " January 2, 1902. From the War Office to the depot of the Blankshire Regiment "Please send particulars of death of mule." January 4, 1902. From the Blankshire Regiment to the War Office. "Cause of mule's death — appendicitis." January 1, 1903. From War Office to Blankshiro Regiment. "Wire explanation of telegram January 4, 1902. How could mule die from appendicitis?" From Blankshire Regiment to the War Office. "Mule ate tail of the mule that -was immediately in front of him — then died."
