KAIKORAI FOOTBALL GROUND COMPANY.

The twelfth annual meeting of -tine above | company was held in the Roslyn Council Chambers last night. Mr L. Kemnitz was vcted.to the chair. The annual r-eport and balanoa sheet were submitted for the y?ar ei-ded 31sfc March last. The former pointed out tba.t the difficulties e^rperieneed in the eaily day 3 of tha company had been overetme, and the purpose for which the ground was obtained had been fully realised. This fcad been a great factor in providing fo? and assisting healthy outdoor sport for the young people of their large and growing district. All the claims urged in favour of ifche ground had been fully justified, and the <jom.pa.ny had proved a financial success. The necessity for improving the ground was fully realised in the direction of providing suitable accommodation for spectators and players. The absence of those conveniences prevented that full share of patronage which the ground would otherwise receive, and hence some improvements had been taken in hand. Their ground, though not the largest, _was one of the besb and driest about Dunedin. Their income in former years had been precarious and varying, but the arrangement made with the Otago Uugby Union had proved satisfactory in every way. It gave the company an assured income, did away with the necessity fo» manning the gates, and the fact that the union played many of its fixtures upon ' it .tended to popularise, the ground and "to Micreasa tie value of the company's £ur>ci the adjoining properties. Lining, the training shed and' top-dressing th© ground would require attention during the current year. The balance of shares remaining unallotted •was 270, and in view of the increase in the value of the property, it was not proposed by the directors to issue those at present. The report concluded by thanking the shareholders, members of the Kaikorai Football Club, Roslya Cricket Club, and Others for past assistance. TKe balanc«

sheet showed : Receipts from rent, £55 ; calls, £1 10s ; bank balanoe brought forward, £18 7s 4d;— total, £74 17s 4d. The expenditure had been: Sundries, £+4 10s; interest,' £12 10s; bank balanoe. £17 17s 4d. The Chairman., in moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, congratulated the shareholders on the success that had attended the company, which Mas due to the fact that all had put their shoulders to the wheel to make it a success. Their ground was one of the best in Dunedin, and was eminently suitable for the purpose required ; and as years rolled over it would bj even more appreciated than at present, particularly if they added two or three acres to it. Mr A. "Webster seconded the motion, j which was carried. The following were elected office.-bearei's j for the current year: — Directors — Messrs Ij. i ETemnitz, W. Sinclair (re-elected), A. Webster, and D. M 'Donald ; auditor, Mr A. O. j M'Gregor; treasurer, Mr F. Farley. Votes of thanks were passed to the re- i tiring office-bearers, and the meeting closed. I The newly-elected directors met after the j general meeting, when Mr R. Chisholm was , re-elected chairman of directors, and Messrs Farley, Wilkinson, and Sinclair the Ground Committee. It was decided to authorise th* expenditure of not more than £15 in lining the training shed. Fifteen shares were allotted to the Kaikorai Club.
