VINCENT JOCKEY CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Vincent Jockey Club was held at Matakanui, and was attendee! by 25 members, Mr Laidlaw occupying the chair. The balance sheet, showing a credit balance of £485 9s 7d, was read and adopted. It was decided that the meeting be held on th-e Ist and 2nd of January, and that the amount of the stakes be £550. It was resolved that the president and secretary be empowered to secure Piper's starting gates. The following office-bearers were elected: — President, Mr William Laidlaw ; vice-presidents — Messrs T. Donnelly and W. Jack; judge, Mr "William Laidlaw ; starter. Mr R. M'Skirnrning ; timekeeper, Mr E. F. Gerkens ; treasurer, Mr T. C. Donnelly; stipendiary steward, Mr C. Huddleston ; handicapper, Mr J. Paget. It was resolved that it be a recommendation to the Programme Committee that two selling races be put on. The secretary was instructed to write to the traffic manage: of the railways with a view to getting a special train for tke meeting. It was resolved that it be a recommendation to the Programme Committee that the big trot be open, and optional saddle or harness.
