THE PANAMA CANAL.
NEW YOKE, May 18.
In the Attorney-general's opinion the American eight-hour labour law applies on territory not American. This creates a difiicult^for the Panama Commission. There is a great outcry in America over the decision of the Panama Commission to buy its supplies in the cheapest market. Much pressure will be brought to induce President Roosevelt to reverse the decision, and a compromise is expected.
