April 3.— The crops oh the v.-hole have been cood in thi<9 district, and with a few more days fine weather they will be all safely in the stack. I hear the farmers are well pleased witn the yield. Ri'.ads —Dissatisfaction exists among tUe * a tepavers in this locality, and this cannot be wondered at, seeing that the locality has been settled for nearly halt a century, and there is not yet a reasonable road formed into the Taieri. I understand that a deputation with a largely-signed petition will again present tfce latter'to the Taieri County Council at its first meeting. As the councillors are al fully aware of the inconvenience the people of this , district ISs^&art^sr ss| as Xuld not be arrived at between the parties.
