M., Pembroke. — A good distemper mixture is concocted as follows : — Chlorate of potash, 2dr ; Minderern's spirit, loz ; sweet spirit nitre, 2ilr; tincture henbane, 2dr; water, 2£oz. Dissolve potash in the water and add the other ingredients. Dose for a puppy of 201b, six weeks old, is a tablespoonful, and it should bs given in some 1 additional water. In cases of fits, and when the head seems affected, add the following, and do not alter the dose : Tincture of aconite, 18 drops ; solution of (Brit. Phar.), 18 drops; and gradually increase the dose of these two drugs, till in a week three times the above dose is given in the mixture. Bath every day in warm waiter with Jeyes's fluid added, and gi-^e all the exercise you can.
