RE'EFTON, April 2. The New Feddersen's dredge has been idle for the last fortnight, owing to the nonarrival of the main sbarft from Westport, where repairs are being effected to it. During the enforced idleness the machinery has received a thorough overhaul, and is now in good working order.

The Rocklands dredge has been idle some time, owing to shortness of water, the recent spell of dry weather having dried up the tributary in which the dredge has been working; but now that rain has set in the dredge should resume work at once.

Arnikiha dredge, on the Matakittki River, is about to recommence work under the control of Mr E. Mills, and it is expected that under his supervision payable returns will bo obtained.

__ The la3t return to hand from the Bellevue dredge, on the same river, was 48oz for 188 hours.

The return of 36i07. 17d^t of gold from the Keep-it-Dark mine for the month of March enabled the directors to meet and declare a, dividend. Work in this mine is being continued on payable stone, the reef m the face being 4ft thick.

The Alpine Company's mine manager reports: — The rise was extended 16ft for the week, making the total distance 145 ft. The reei went up plumb for a few feet. But is now coming back to its usual course There is no improvement in the quality. The winze in No. 12 was sunk 7ft, making the total distance 16ft. Th.aSS? is 2u 4m of stone of fair quality.
