THE DIRECT STEAMERS. SYDNEY, March 7.— Sailed: Fifeshire, for Auckland. The Paparoa left London on Sunday for Auckland and Wellington. The Corinthic, which left London on February 14, left Capetown on Saturday for Wellington. The Star of Scotland left Wellington on Wednesday for London. THE EXPORT TRADE. The Federal liner Drayton Grange, which left Wellington on the 28th ult. for the West of England ports, via Adelaide, Fremant!e, and South Africa, took the following cargo from New Zealand : — From Auckland : 597 boxes butter. From Port Chalmei-s : 2150 boxes butter, 159 crates poultry. 1012 sacks bran. 2100 carcases lamb. From Timaru: 12,760 carcases lamb, 807 do mutton, 200 crates poultry, 4-331 sacks oats, 4005 do bran. From Lyttelton : 9168 carcases lamb, 499 do mutton, 77 cases tongues, 192 crates poultry, 35 boxes butter, 9052 sacks oats, 10 sacks oatmeal, 2010 sacks bran, 71 dumps tow. From Picton : 3388 carcases lamb, 2767 do mutton. From Wellington : 1211 boxes butter, 27 crates poultry, 5490 carcases lamb, 1242 do mutton, 110 cases tongues, 319 bales flax, 30 cases fish, 55 sacks grass seed, and sundries. The following is a, summary of the cargo shipped by the Rangatira, which left Port Chalmers on Monday, 6th : — From Auckland : '466 ba!es wool, 1 bale horse hair, 1739 bales fibre, 12 bales leather and basils, 230 cases gum. 11 casks tallow, 20 casks pelts, 12^ tons bark. 81 packages sundries. 7481 carcases lamb, 469 carcases mutton, 16 quarters bee-f. From Gisborne : 340 bales wool, 130 casks tallow, 90 casks pelts,. 3390 rnroafos lamb, 16,147 carcases mutton, 125 boxes sweetbreads, etc. From Napier : 389 bales ' wool, 62 casks tallow, 13 casks pelts. 6163 carcases lamb, 6654 carcases mutton, 150 boxes sweetbreads, etc. From Welhigtou : 1110 carcases, lamb, 1163 carcases mutton, 37 boxes sweetbreads, etc. From Lyttelton : ! 4544 carcses lamb. 1990 carcases mutton. This vessel, which is at present on her maiden voyage, is of 3865 tons gross and 2510 lons net register, with a dead-weight capacity of 6650 tons, her principal dimensions being : — Length 360 ft, beam 4-9£ ft, depth 28ft. The Oakburn, which was launched at the latter end of last year, was built by Messrs Russell and Co., Port Glasgow. She is owned by the Burn Line (Limited), of Greenock. The vessel is fitted with every modern contrivance for quick handling of cargo, while her propelling machinery consists of a set of triple expansion engines built by Messrs D. Rowan and Co., of Glasgow. She has about 600 tons of general cargo for Dunedin. and after discharging her NewZealand cargo the vessel proceeds to Sydney to be docked for cleaning and repainting. She then goes to Newcastle to load coal for Manila, from which port she will probably take a cargo of hemp to Boston.
