Maivh 3. — On Monday cv^nine a very, pleasant social wa» tendered to Miss J ~\i. Macdonald, who is severing her connection •with the local school to take up a position
ea the staff of the Ravensbourne School. Although the evening was very wet, the Schoolroom was crowded with children and friends who had assembled to give Miss Macdonald a good send-off. After some musical items had been rendered, Mr R. Jefferis, In a happy speech, testified to the good work rlone in the school and district by Miss Mactlonald, and, on behalf of the children and parents, presented her with a handsome Brooch. Mr Nelson returned thanks for the Recipient, and after some more musical items Were gone through, tea and cake were handed iound by the ladies. An hour's dancing then bioughta most enjoyable evening to an end.
