DUNEIHX CITY MISSION.

The new committee for the current year met on Tuesday at the Bible Depot, Mr George Eeid in the chair.

Mr George M. Thomson was re-elected as president, Mr E. Rosevear was re-elected as ton. treasurer, and Mr Duncan Wright was also re-elected' as secretary and missionary. In the absence of the hon. treasurer, the following donations, etc., were reported: — Mrs A., 21s ; Mrs F., 20s ; attendance cards, £2 14s ; Mrs 8., 10s ; Mrs G., 103 ; Friends of the Mission, £& 13s 4d; Mr 1., 20s; Russell Street Hall, 16s ; A Lady Helper, £20. For the Good Samaritan Fund: Friends. £5. Total, £39 4s 4d.

Intimation was also given to the meeting that a lady friend now deceased had left a legacy of £50 to the City Mission. The usual accounts were passed for payment.

In his monthly memo, the missionary notiEe<2 iliat the usual visitations had been inafie; that the ordinary services had been continued ; md that all the parts of the mission were being carried out. All the classes, too, for Bible reading in State schools were being held at Union Street, High Street, Albany Street, G-oorge Street, and Arthur Street, and that the numbers present for the first week ware:

Monday 168, Tuesday 134, Wednesday 195, Tlmrsday 143, Friday 141 ; total, 781.

As yet Mr Wright has had to depend largely upon the assistance given by senior boys and girls foni the upper standards ; but he hopes soon to have voluntary workers to co-operate.
