NEW ZEALAND TROTTING ASSOCIATION.

I The monthly meeting of the New Zealnnd ' Trotting Association was held last week, when there were present — Messrs P. Selig (president), C. S. Howell, W. Hayward, C. F. Mark, W. G. Garrard, and A. L. Myers. Apologies ; were received for the absence of Messrs T. ! Marr and J. H. Pollock. Leave of absence was granted to Mr D. M'Lean during his illness. It was decided to remove the disqualifications from all officials and horses that took part in the unregistered meeting at Kihikihi on January 2. Correspondence was read regarding the mare Maggie T., which won a race at the Hurunui Turf Club's meeting, and it was decided that the club should be instructed to pay o^er the stakes to the owner of Maggie T. A letter was read from Mr M. C. Shepherd, secretary of the Malvern Trotting Club, explaining his action in connection with the registration of certain horses, and stating that in future he would forward all papers for registration direct to the association. The explanation of the secretary of the Murchison Axemen's Association, with regard to complaints as to the conduct of the meeting, was accepted as satisfactory. It was decided to remove the disqualification from the horse Jimmy, which competed at the Miller's Flat sports without being registered. A letter- was read from the Pacific Coast Trotting Horse Breeders' Association, agreeing to accept the 75d01s in the hands of tho New Zealand Trotting Association, in full j satisfaction of all claims against the mare Norice. The Secretary of the Colonial Trotting Horse Breeders, Owners, and Trainers' Association forwarded a circular setting out the I objects of the Association. It was decided to reply, wishing the association every sue- j cess. The recommendation of the Waihora Park Sports Club, that the disqualification of Charles Herbert and Hastings Ireland shotild be removed, was agreed to. The application for the removal of the disqualification incurred by the horse. General IT, for trotting -without being registered, was refused, the owner, Mr H. E. Jacobs, being recommended to apply again in three months. The registrations ot the following foreign horses were approved: — Jersey Lily, Harold Dillon, Mauritius, Wallace L., Muriel Maddison, Blsa Huon, Melba, Legbreak, and Cornwall. It was decided that the registration of the mare Vesper Bell should be made conditional on payment of a fine of £5 by the owner, the amount to be paid within a month. . Licenses, as recommended by the committee, were passed, and programmes^ as passed by the executive, were approved.
